The present study examines the grain size dependence of yield and flow stress of the near eutectic AA aluminium alloy. This alloy, when appropriately processed, can develop very fine grain sizes (d distribution of fine intermetallic particles. Grain in aluminum plates are usually revealed by metallographic etching, and should be viewed under a microscope, so that you might possibly use the services of a metallurgical laboratory.
